This is not a first hand
story so- to- say since I was a new born at the time. however, here it is
as the way its been told to me my whole life.
It was about 3:00 in the morning on some weekend shortly after I was born,
my dad, his dad, my mother, grandmother, aunt, and uncle, were deep in the
Kiamichi mountains having a weekend camping trip. they were wrapping up
from an almost all night fishing trip, they all decided to get the gear
and walk back up the trail to the cars where we were camping in. all of
the women were in the various cars and the guys were putting out the fire
that they had set earlier, and general clean up. my dad and grandfather
had noticed, what my dad said, sounded like something "stalking" them (us)
on the ridge above the cars. they shrugged it off as a bear or something.
All they knew is that it knew they were there and that this thing was
large. the sounds kept on for a while, then would go away, only to appear
closer. Then they heard a series of loud thumps, which all of the women
heard as well. they were all very scared, and didn't know whether to leave
or wait it out. but my grandfather was no type of "chicken" so they stuck
through it . About 30 min. past since the thumping stopped, a couple of
large rocks came flying over the cars, towards where everyone was huddled.
no one was hit but they were large rocks, about 3-5 inches in diameter.
My dad, uncle, and grandfather decided to try to see who was messing with
them, hoping to scare them away. they crossed the gravel road about 40
feet in front of the cars, when they were scanning the bushline, All at
once they all saw a face looking right back at them. My uncle looked for a
second then screamed and ran back towards the cars, my dad and grandfather
stood there starring at it about 8 feet away face to face. It has been
described to me as a grey or white-ish hairy face that appeared like some
type of ape. But they weren't sure they were too scarred to rationalize
anything. and at the same time the creature and my dad all ran away from each
other at the same time.
They got back to the cars. not speaking of anything for a time, while
they listened to this thing walk up and down the ridge throughout the
early morning and eventually had left. After the sun was well risen they
all went up to where the "encounter" had occurred and had noticed further
up the ridge a large stump that was torn apart in the middle, where they
think that's where the thumping probably came from. they packed up and
called it a fishing trip. no one wanted to stay the next night.
This is the sum of the story, I've asked my mother about it since .(she
and my dad were divorced about two years after the encounter) and her
story is exactly as my dads is, except that's told from the vantage point
of the backseat of an old station wagon. My grandmothers too. No one was
drinking or doing any illicit drugs of any sorts. I've even had to ask
myself if that were the case, but it wasn't none of them did any sort of
drugs, or drink. So I figured you would enjoy this little piece of my
history.
My dad and grandmother took me to the place where it happened, It was
about 20 years after; however, there were still pieces of an old white and
blue styrofoam ice chest, that had been dropped on the way up the hill
after the fishing was done that night. It was weird because my dad and
grandmother were walking through this place like it were yesterday. of
course grown up a bit, but the trail was still there. They took me to
where they saw this thing. Hell I got chills, because where we were
standing and looking straight ahead, after you cross the ditch you would
be about 2 feet shorter. So this thing must have been pretty damn tall.
We were all getting a little spooked at that point and decided that we should
go inside. We hurried in the door and proceeded in telling Ann and Lyann's
mother what we had just seen. She told us that we should go out to Ann's
father's car and turn on the headlights because they pointed towards the
woods. So, Ann, Lyann, and little ol' me walked outside to brave "the great
unknown". We got in the car and locked the doors and turned on the
headlights. We didn't see anything out of the ordinary so we got out and
started to walk back towards the house. On the way, Ann had us stop with her
so she could put something back into her mother's car. I turned towards the
woods and saw something move. I told Lyann to hand me the flashlight in her
hands. I shined it's light towards the spot that I had seen the movement.
Then I saw a flash. If you have ever seen what a cat's eyes look like when
they catch light just right, how they appear to actually shine light back at
you...or when your driving down a road and the flash when your headlights hit
the little reflectors on the road. That was what it looked like. Then I told
Ann to look out at the woods. The second she did there was obvious shock on
her face. It was at least 8 feet tall and it was standing on two feet. Its
legs were skinny and covered in brown hair. The knees were up above the top
of the fence. We didn't stick around to sit and chat, the three of us got the
heck outta there!! We ran the short distance to the porch, and only then did
we slow down to open the door. Then we ran to the couch and fell down onto
it. Completely out of breath. Not from the short run, but from the fear
itself. Once we had regained control over our breathing, we proceeded to
tell Ann and Lyann's mother what happened. Needless to say...we didn't go
back outside for the rest of the night.

Here is a good YouTube video around the Antlers Area:
Bigfoot in Oklahoma Part 2

Oklahoma
Delaware County - 1994
I enjoy watching Bigfoot
documentaries, and the other day it donned on me that I might have had a
Bigfoot Encounter a long time ago, and didn't even realize it.
I graduated college in 1994
and moved back to the Oklahoma area. My parents live actually in
Siloam Springs, Ark.
on the state line. It was right after college I remember, and I went out with
a friend of mine and his wife. My friend lived about six miles into
Oklahoma,
in Delaware County, it was right off HWY 412. His father owned a little ranch
with mostly beef cattle and some horses.
A few months before a tornado
had ripped through the area and a lot of trees were down. My friend had
invited me out, with his wife to drink a few beers. Of course they were going
to get some free labor out of me, by clearing some brush. The plan was to go
out to the ranch in the late afternoon and cut some wood, then later that
night burn the brush, as we sat around and visited. This sounded great, since
I hadn't seen my friend in a couple of months nor had I been in the area in a
long while.
We worked through out the
afternoon into the evening and had accumulated a hefty brush pile. You have to
understand that the area is in the upper tip of the Ozarks, so there is a lot
of woodlands and hills. We were working at the bottom of this hill, at the
point of a ridge. It was the smartest thing to do, sense we could cut the
trees off the side of the hill, and let the firewood roll down to the bottom.
There was not a lot of undergrowth. It was a pretty steep hill with a lot of
oak trees and of course every step you made was on a blanket of leaves. Again
I say, there was not a lot of undergrowth on this hills side, so if you looked
up it at night, all you were going to see is the silhouette of trees. I would
say that the hillside was at a 45 to 55 degree angle.
We had finished our work and
put the tailgate down to enjoy the comfort of a well deserved beer, and to
reminisce about High School Days. We were well into the night talking about
glory days, and well into a case of beer. The stump that was the middle of our
brush pile was starting to fade away. I was getting geared up to tell a story,
when my friend stopped me with a look of curiosity. He pointed up the side of
the hill, and said," What is that, it look like something is watching us." We
both took notice to the oranges-red eyes that were watching us.
Now, we had a few to drink,
but we coming to our senses real quick.
I had to think about it hard
to remember about how far away the eyes where. You have to remember this has
been at least 13 years ago, but I do remember this, we never seen the
silhouette of what ever was out there. I would estimate it being about 30
paces away. It was right on the edge of the glow of the fire. We sat and
watched it, as it watch us. We analyzed everything we could. We thought it
might be a opossum or a raccoon, but the eyes were to large, and we had never
seen a orange red glow. We probably wouldn't even had paid attention to it, if
it wasn't for the eye glow. We thought the only way that could be a opossum or
a coon is if it were in a tree, or maybe a dead tree that had been blow over.
We thought maybe it was a
deer, but a deer wouldn't have stayed around with as much racket as we were
making, and a deer have a yellow eye glow. We thought?
You
have to understand that yes, we had a few to drink, but it has been 13 years,
and to this day, I don't know what I was looking at. It is hard to register
something that you are looking at, and can't figure it out.
My friend had enough, and
walked to the side of the truck and pulled out his 30/30 from behind the set.
He had turned the music down, almost off. He returned to the tailgate, and we
went on with our conversation. We kept on eye on it, and tried not to draw
attention that we new something was out there. His wife had one too many, and
she couldn't see anything nor did she care. She got inside of the truck and
laid in the set to sleep it off. We continued to wonder want it was.
I asked him, "Could it be one
of your dad's cow that had got out, just standing on the hillside. We were
grasping for straws to figure it out. He said he didn't think so, it was much
to tall, even at a angle. I told him there is only one way to find out. So I
got off the truck and grabbed a rock about the size of my fist, and looked at
him. He gave the the nod to go ahead, cause we couldn't figure it out. I threw
the rock right at it. It was the most noise we had heard in awhile. You could
hear the rock cut through the branches, hit, then roll down the hill. It never
moved! If that was a cow, it would have hauled ass, but nothing. We were
starting to get really spooked. I threw another, and nothing. You could see a
slight movement side to side, and maybe up and down ever once in a while, but
for the most part it was frozen still looking at us. Sometimes during our
conversation you would loose track of the eyes, and we would think what ever
it was had moved on, but give it a few minutes and the eyes would return. I
probably threw five, or six rocks. I couldn't tell you what time it was, but
if it was up to me, it would have been time to leave a long time ago. The only
reason we didn't leave sooner is because we didn't want the fire to get out.
The reason we didn't shoot, was because what if it was one of his dad's cow.
We would be knee deep in trouble, for shooting a cow.
I couldn't tell you how long
we stated out there, it was like a bad game of stalemate. We had a five gallon
bucket, that we was going to use to get water out of the creek with to put out
the fire, but neither of us was willing to leave that truck. I think it was me
that finally come up with bright idea to kick dirt onto the fire, to die it
down. It was my idea, so I had the honors. I kicked the dirt, as my friend
stood guard. When we felt the blaze was down to a safe kindle, we left.
We never heard a sound out of
the creature, nor did we ever smell anything.
After watching the
documentaries, I realized what it might have been all these years. The red eye
glow has stuck with me for a long time. I stop and think about throwing rocks
at the eyes. That could have been the smartest thing we did, by claiming our
territory, or it could have been the stupidest thing, and most dangerous. If
that was a Bigfoot, I doubt that 30/30 would have stopped him.
I not looking for any
recognition, I don't need people thinking I'm a freak.
I will just sign off with, this
is what I remember.
